Workshop on Integral Psychotherapy

Krishna Mohan – Vishakapatnam.

Integral Psychotherapy depicted in this workshop is based on a consciousness paradigm of the human being implicit in Sri Aurobindo’s psychological system. It involves a systematic knowledge of the various parts and planes of the human being, the structure of personality, the nature of ego and self, the ranges of consciousness together with understanding of psychopathology that arises in different planes of the being, and also the appropriate intervention strategies. Therapy based on such a paradigm not only addresses a specific aspect of the concerned psychopathology, but simultaneously helps in bringing harmony to the system and fosters psychological growth. The uniqueness of this model is that it offers both the therapist and the client an opportunity to outgrow his or her limitations in becoming a more harmonious human being. The therapist has to undergo a self-growth discipline, a type of sadhana where the qualities of love, compassion, empathy, serenity, goodwill, and detachment develop along with professional skills, expertise and knowledge.
