The Four Components of IPI-work:

1. Yoga

  • one needs to work on oneself
    • to turn one's nature into a better instrument for the study of Psychology
    • to turn one's nature into a better instrument for the application of Psychology
    • for one's own inner development
    • simply out of Love for the Divine and his creation
  • one can work on oneself through:
    • a traditional path
    • a new, open path leading to realization as well as transformation
      and based on self-observation, aspiration, rejection, and surrender

2. Study of Indian Psychology related ideas, concepts, fields, entities & the relations between them

  • such a study may  lead to:
    • conceptual maps of inner regions, entities, types of consciousness
    • a theoretical foundation for the other three components
    • realization & transformation
  • the study can start from:
    • traditional ideas & issues
    • contemporary ideas & issues
    • a vision of the future
  • the study can include links with:
    • ideas & issues in other times & cultures
    • original sources
    • the social, historical and philosophical context
    • the other three components (Yoga, Processes & Applications)

3. Study of Indian Psychology related processes, the dynamics

  • the study of the dynamics is essential
    • to understand and effect change
      in oneself as well as in others
  • what works where, when & how?
    • the forces at work
    • the detailed processes that take place in areas like cognition, affect, volition, agency, change
    • the effect of inner attitudes and gestures
