Oneness of God: psychological reflections on the communal problems in India
Aswani Kumar University of Delhi, Delhi
Religions unite people in one spirit and also divide them. It is a philosophical problem whether there is one god or many gods. When we consider the fanatic religiosity and the attitude of showing one’s religious primacy over the other, it seems that there is no one god. Therefore, which god and religion is true? In the Indian context such a question is controversial because people are acutely sensitive about their faiths. The present theoretical paper discusses and emphasizes the concept of oneness of God and reflects on the communal problems due to religious differentiations.
