Yoga as an intervention strategy
for augmenting spiritual intelligence
Ms. Anamika Sharma & Dr. Madhu Jain
The human body is the perfect creation of God, which is controlled and governed by a unique, mystique and unmatchable supercomputer, that is, human mind, which enables the human being to rule this planet. First we had IQ tests, then we talked about Emotional Intelligence (EQ), and now we are whispering Spiritual Intelligence (SQ). The development of ideas of EQ and SQ offers clues to the ways in which we are using different parts of ourselves in the ambience around us. The present paper begins with highlighting what importance Spiritual Intelligence holds for the emptiness at the center of the lives of the clever and empathetic people. There is a work we are all born to do; but the work of the spiritually intelligent beings shares two qualities: they enjoy it and it helps others. But if one doesn t have it, how can one develop SQ? Thus, this paper emphasizes on Yoga and Meditation as an effective tool for development and augmentation of SQ. Further, the paper envisages on the practice of meditation into the workplace, bringing out one's spiritual intelligence for the development and promotion of a healthier and happier work culture. It concludes with the overwhelming desire for beginning an expedition towards the realm of Spiritual Intelligence in a yogic manner.
